Job overview

The school is seeking to appoint a Director in Residence from January 2018. The appointment will be for 12 months, to December 2018, with the opportunity to apply for a further fixed term contract.  

The successful applicant will work closely with the Drama Department, and report to the Director of Drama.  The post of Director of Residence is well established within the school and provides excellent creative and development opportunities including directing the annual school musical (performed at the city’s Kings Theatre), involvement in the Portsmouth Festivities programme and taking a production to the Edinburgh Festival during the summer.

The post is intended for an aspiring Director who wishes to gain hands-on directing experience and develop new initiatives within a highly supportive and exceptionally well resourced educational environment.

A DBS check at enhanced level will be required.

ISI Report 2022

During an ISI Inspection in late 2022 both the achievement of the pupils, including their academic development and the personal development of the pupils were found to be excellent - the highest possible classification. The Inspection also looked at the School’s compliance with the regulatory standards and requirements. PGS met all the standards required.
