About International School of Brussels

Our Mission

Everyone Included, Everyone Challenged, Everyone Successful

The International School of Brussels (ISB) offers a challenging, inclusive international education designed to give every student opportunities for success within and beyond our school.

This education is provided by teams of outstanding, well-resourced teachers, working in world-class learning environments in a safe, secure campus.

The ISB experience is shaped by a spirit of community, characterized by students, parents, faculty and staff working together to achieve our goal of developing independent learners and international citizens.

ISB is one of the longest established international schools in Europe. With 1400 students from Nursery to Grade 12, it is also one of the largest. It is situated on a beautiful wooded campus of 40 acres, has wonderful facilities and a central administrative hub, housed in an elegant Chateau.

What does begin to make us different, however, is a powerful mission that really drives practice.

Our mission values - ‘Everyone Included, Everyone Challenged, Everyone Successful’ - provide a simple message. As a professional educator, you will know that achieving such a mission is extremely complex. We are, however, deeply committed to these values and strive for excellence in all aspects of our work. In practice, this means that we:
• Accept the whole range of students including those with severe learning difficulties
• Include our community in key discussions and decisions
• Work in collaborative teams
• Use student profiling to ensure that each student is genuinely successful

A FOCUS ON LEARNING

Our mission commits us to learning as the driving force in our school, for all students and adults. All planning and all major projects are evaluated in terms of their impact on learning. ISB is truly learning-focused, in ways that few schools approach.
