Lewisham is a vibrant and diverse inner-London borough. 90% of Lewisham schools are Good or Outstanding and many secondaries are currently benefiting from significant investment to improve outcomes for pupil.

Lewisham Learning is a schools’-led partnership established by school leaders and the local authority in 2016 to deliver high quality school improvement services to all of Lewisham’s schools. The organisation is rooted in successful collaboration which has underpinned education in the borough for some time.
The Director role is the most senior leadership role in the organisation and reports to the Independent Chair of a Strategic Board made up of Headteachers and Chairs of Governors from Lewisham Learning member schools and local authority stakeholders.

The role of the Director Lewisham Learning is to translate the Board’s strategy into practice, developing this partnership for improvement so that all Lewisham schools are Good or Outstanding. The Director provides operational leadership for the organisation and is responsible for developing new models for local area school improvement.

We are seeking a high-calibre school improvement specialist with a track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes for underachieving groups, particularly in ethnically-diverse inner-city settings. You will have a passion for school improvement, a track record of effective leadership and highly-tuned relationship management skills.
