The School
Established close to fifty years ago, the British School of Milan is an independent, co-educational, not-forprofit organisation enjoying a national and international reputation for excellence. The School offers students the English National Curriculum up to (I)GCSE and the IB Diploma in the Sixth Form, with a wide range of co-curricular activities throughout. Teaching staff work in a positive and friendly atmosphere with bright and responsive students. The last two cohorts have gained an average of 35 IB diploma points, and (I)GCSE results in 2016 and 2017 saw the total A*/A grades average 65%. The recent ISI Inspection (November 2017) affirmed that pupils make 'excellent progress', while the quality of pupils’ learning and achievement and the quality of pupils’ personal development were both rated ‘excellent’ overall.
Living in Milan
The school is situated close to the centre of Milan, a cosmopolitan city, the financial and economic capital of Italy, and an exciting place in which to live and work. It boasts one of the grandest squares in Europe, dominated by a spectacular cathedral and arcade. Art treasures include The Last Supper by Leonardo and the Rondanini Pietà by Michelangelo, while La Scala is one of the premier opera houses in the world. The fashion houses of Prada, Armani and Versace have their headquarters here, while two of the finest football teams in Europe play in the San Siro stadium. Milan recently hosted the World Expo, and with excellent public transport and world-class healthcare, there has never been a better time to live in the city
