George Salter Academy is a friendly, happy and vibrant 11-18 academy, serving a multi-cultural community and we are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Director of EBacc from September 2024. The successful candidate will need to have a strategic overview of Geography, History, RE and PSHE. Having experience of teaching Humanities is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

•            To line manage the areas of Geography, History and RE

•            To review and evaluate the PSHE programme.

•            To liaise regularly with pupils and staff to ensure that the curriculum areas in Geography, History, RE and PSHE remain current, up–to-date and relevant to our pupils.

•            To advise, support and work with HOY/HOD.

•            To oversee the allocation of staff for all PSHE lessons.

•            To share direct accountability for the successful delivery of the vision for PSHE for the Academy as a whole.

•            To play a lead part in the community of the Academy.

George Salter Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form in the West Midlands, serving students from the age of 11-19. The secondary school, situated in Sandwell has approximately 1,220 students on record. It is sponsored by the Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT).

George Salter Academy converted to academy status in 2007.
