Job overview

The TEAM Education Trust is seeking an experienced and passionate individual to lead education and achievement across Trust Schools, based across all associated sites to cover maternity leave.

Our ideal candidate might be looking to gain experience at a Trust level for the first time or be an experienced leader looking to take on a multi-sited specialist school setting; the ideal candidate we seek is an individual who will bring energy, passion and professional knowledge to our school.

TEAM Education Trust has 3 Inspirational Schools and 7 School Collaborations. With 679 TEAM pupils and 167 Dedicated Staff we have strong links with partners local communities.

The successful candidate will have strategic experience and the ability to inspire staff and children. We are looking for someone who is an outstanding leader who recognises high quality teaching and learning and has high aspirations for young people across the Trust. We seek a candidate who will be keen to empower everyone to reach their full potential in our fully inclusive schools.

The key purpose of the Director of Education and Achievement is to effect rapid improvement in TEAM Education Trust, in order to secure the very best outcomes (better progress than that achieved nationally) for learners, and improved Ofsted ratings. In addition, a core focus of this role is the achievement, in all aspects, of disadvantaged students across the Trust and our high prior attaining students.

The TEAM Education Trust can offer the successful candidate the support to continue with the growth of the Trust, excellent renumeration and employment benefits as well as the potential for further career development.

For more information on our school, please telephone the TEAM Education Trust and ask to speak with the Personal Assistant to the Trust CEO who will arrange for you to talk with one of our Executive Team.

Please read the Person Specification and Job Description for the role of Director of Education and Achievement.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.   All school posts involve working with children and therefore the successful candidates will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records at an enhanced level. Further information about the Disclosure Scheme can be found at www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check

As an organisation assessing applicants’ suitability for positions which are included in the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order using criminal record checks processed through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), TEAM Education Trust complies fully with the code of practice and undertakes to treat all applicants for positions fairly. TEAM Education Trust undertakes not to discriminate unfairly against any subject of a criminal record check on the basis of a conviction or other information revealed.

TEAM Education Trust is committed to the fair treatment of its staff and potential staff, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, responsibilities for dependants, age, physical/mental disability or offending background. We actively promote equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills and potential and welcome applications from a wide range of candidates, including those with criminal records.

Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar a person from working in school. This will depend on the nature of the position and the circumstances and background of the offence(s).

At Application stage, you will be asked to declare Criminal Records. At interview, or in a separate discussion, TEAM Education Trust ensures that an open and measured discussion takes place on the subject of any offences or other matter that might be relevant to the position. Failure to reveal information that is directly relevant to the position sought could lead to withdrawal of an offer of employment.

Failure to declare a relevant conviction, caution or pending police action, will disqualify the applicant from appointment or result in summary dismissal if the discrepancy comes to light later.
