About Ethos Academy Trust

Ethos Academy Trust is a Trust specialising in meeting the needs of pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and wider Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Ethos is currently located within West Yorkshire, with plans underway to expand into South Yorkshire. Established in 2018 as a not-for- profit charity, Ethos Academy Trust places children and young people at the heart of everything it does. Ethos is a learning organisation, where the learning of all pupils and adults is valued and continually promoted.

The overarching aim of the Trust is to create academies that provide environments that are welcoming, caring, calm, safe and purposeful and that, within a nurturing ethos, stretch our learners academically, support them pastorally and develop them socially and emotionally. We seek to explore and celebrate the qualities that make our pupils unique. We believe passionately that education, at every stage of the pupil journey, is about the development and nurture of the whole child. We aspire for all our pupils to become confident, happy and caring individuals who achieve personal success and develop a love of learning and of life.

In addition to our four current academies (Ethos College, Reach Academy, Engage Academy and Evolve Academy), the Trust provides wide ranging early intervention outreach support and training to mainstream schools, alongside managing the statutory exclusions process on behalf of Kirklees Local Authority.

This is a unique opportunity to join a very special values-driven organisation, where we aim to deliver the very best educational experiences for pupils from across the primary and secondary age range.

Ethos Academy Trust is committed to the continued improvement of the quality of education in all our academies and we aim to achieve this through adopting research-led practice in teaching and learning. The Director of Education will be at the heart of this work and will work closely with the CEO and school leaders to help us to achieve our mission of maximising the life chances of all our children and young people.
