Job overview

Manchester’s ethos is to build on the strengths of our people to ensure that everyone may benefit from the economic growth of our City. Our children and young people are at the heart of this - we must ensure they are equipped with the education, motivation and aspiration to be the next generation of our great City’s innovators and achievers.

We are looking for an experienced education leader to join our team, to ensure Council services, Schools, Colleges and further education providers all continue to work together to drive outcomes for Manchester’s children. This is a unique opportunity to work across the whole, dynamic, education system. We need your technical credibility, judgement and personal impact to maintain our excellent relationships with head teachers and to corral all partners in maintaining our progress in improving educational standards. You will provide vision, leadership and direction to deliver aspirational outcomes for the City of Manchester. This is a challenging role but, with the whole City behind you, you too can make a difference to the learners of Manchester.

The successful candidate will be an established professional, educated to degree level and with experience of working at a senior level in education. Through senior management experience you will be able to demonstrate a proven ability to think strategically and to find creative solutions through collaboration. You will have an up to date understanding of the education system and how to grasp the opportunities this presents for partnership working.
