ENDEAVOUR TEACHING SCHOOL ALLIANCE

Endeavour Teaching School is an alliance of four primary schools located across London, REAch2 and the Institute of Education. Our alliance strives to continually develop its staff as well as offering support to other teachers both within England and internationally (Europe, Africa and Asia....so far). We understand the value of continued professional development and are fortunate to be able to draw upon our own talented staff to continually challenge and improve our practice as an alliance.

Schools in our alliance have been and continue to be at the forefront of initial teacher education. Over the years we have experienced great success in supporting and developing trainees on several programmes including Teach First, the Graduate Teacher Programme and the PGCE. We work closely with the Institute of Education, with whom we share a bespoke partnership in relation to initial teacher training.

In developing qualified teachers we place great importance on the practicality and relevance of our programmes.  Schools in our alliance lead a number of high quality programmes including a Newly Qualified Teacher Induction programme, Outstanding Teacher programme and Speech and Language in the Primary classroom programme. We have Specialist Leaders of Education and senior teachers who design and implement bespoke support packages for schools in a wide variety of areas.

In March 2013, Tidemill Academy was designated a National Teaching School by the National College for Teaching and Leadership. Since then the alliance has been formed and our commitment to being directly involved in the improvement of education has only got stronger.  We work with schools across London and beyond, recognising the importance of identifying and sharing best practice across a range of schools and systems.

TIDEMILL ACADEMY

Tidemill Academy is a two form primary situated very near to the busy and diverse Deptford High Street. While our new school and the golden Deptford Lounge buildings have only been open since January 2012, they are now a key feature of the Deptford landscape and are symbolic of the wider regeneration sweeping through the area. Deptford is well-located, only 6 minutes from London Bridge by train, 11 minutes from Cannon Street and Waterloo. At the heart of Deptford and almost on our doorstep is the colourful market, the food and fruit and veg stalls highlighting the diversity of the local community. There is a thriving arts scene with the Laban Dance Centre, a number of local galleries, studio spaces and the Albany theatre just a stone’s throw away from the school.

Our amazing new premises are part of an innovative £29m Giffin Street Regeneration programme. The school is co-located with a library and the Deptford Lounge building that we share with Lewisham Council has additional accommodation for voluntary and community groups, adult education classes and sports facilities. This exciting development means Tidemill have state of the art classrooms & learning environments.
