We require a dynamic individual with a proven background in a strategic finance role that is seeking the opportunity to work in the education sector embracing the challenges and rewards that it brings.
The Finance and Operations Director will lead and manage the business aspects of Wellington College Academy Trust. The post holder will provide high quality leadership and management of the Academy’s business function, contributing to the preparation, implementation and review of the Trust Improvement and growth plans. The Finance and Operations Director will provide strategic and operational leadership in all aspects of business activities within the Central Services team and be accountable for the operation, maintenance and development of systems, processes and procedures relating to: finance, administration, HR, premises, IT, catering provision and business development.
The successful candidate will ideally be fully qualified CIPFA, ACA, ACMA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, with advanced level Microsoft Excel and experience of managing a team in a dynamic environment.
The role is based at The Wellington Academy, which is a highly inclusive, innovative 21st century school, opened in 2009 to serve the Tidworth area of Wiltshire, which includes part of the new Salisbury Plain army super garrison. Other members of the Trust include a Primary School based in Tidworth, a day-care nursery and our Enterprise Company. The position will require an element of travel to other sites as the Wellington Academy Trust grows.

The Wellington Academy, as part of the Ascend Learning Trust, offers opportunities that are quite unique in a state school.
