Director of Finance and Operations

A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Director of Finance and Operations at Victoria Academies Trust, a six-school multi-academy trust in the West Midlands. Internationally recognised Victoria Park Academy is one of the most successful primary academies in England and was the founding school of the Trust which has grown from one primary school to six primary schools in two years.

We are at a significant juncture in our development which will see the Trust grow over the next three years and are therefore seeking to appoint an outstanding individual as our new Director of Finance and Operations. Reporting to the Chief Executive you will lead on the financial strategy for the organisation as well as driving business performance through oversight of all financial planning, forecasting, control, risk and analysis. You will ensure that the financial systems, processes and procurement strategy support our educational objectives and oversee all commercial interests and ventures across the Trust, including our community interest company and initial teacher training.

You will be a qualified accountant and bring experience of leading an effective finance function. Working closely with the Business Managers and Headteachers, stakeholder management and relationship building are critical in ensuring a successful Trust wide approach to finance and operations. You will also bring an enterprising approach and have exceptional communication and business development skills. Having an understanding of the education sector or wider public sector is of benefit but we are seeking a highly motivated, ambitious and values driven individual to ensure the Trust has financial integrity and can work as effectively as possible to ensure a high quality education for all.
