Job Title: Director of Finance and Resources (Pendle Education Trust)

37 hours per week (full time) with some flexibility required

Salary: £44 - £50K dependant on experience

This role is an established role within the senior leadership structure of Pendle Education Trust. The current post-holder is relocating to Norfolk. You will report directly to Pendle Education Trust Chief Executive, Anita Ghidotti, and work closely with the Trust Board and the Principals and Office Managers in all four academies. 

The role has developed significantly since it was established three years ago and will continue to be shaped and developed in the future. It is a role that requires both financial expertise and commercial acumen. You will be responsible for the financial strategy and plan and ensuring best value for money at all times. You will work closely with the Chief Executive and Trust Board and provide challenge and guidance in strategic discussions. The role provides opportunities to lead the facilities and IT Network functions across the Trust to ensure the benefits of a ‘joined-up’ approach with finance are reaped. 

This is an excellent career opportunity for a driven and ambitious financial leader to work in a growing and forward-thinking multi-academy trust setting. It provides all the challenge and operational content of a ‘traditional’ finance role together with the opportunity to develop and influence the finance and resources strategy for the Trust with the Board and Chief Executive. 

The Trust has an office at the sponsor’s site, Nelson and Colne College, and this role is based from there. You will visit all four academies on a regular basis. 

Key duties include

· To lead all elements of finance and facilities for Pendle Education Trust.

· To advise on funding methodology and reforms.

· To manage all contracted services, including inviting tenders where required. 

· To seek and bid for additional funding opportunities and commercial income in collaboration with the individual academies and partners. 

· To line manage the Facilities Manager and IT Network Manager and be responsible for the delivery of services across both areas. 

· To be responsible for the monitoring and review of the risk register including the updating of the associated action plan. 

The ideal candidate will have

· Recognised accountancy qualification

· Experience of production of management reports and financial accounts

· Experience of managing complex budgets

· The ability to lead and build teams
