Director of Finance and Support Services

Swanshurst is a large, “Outstanding” and oversubscribed school. We expect the best from everyone who walks through our door as we strive to be a provider of an exceptional education to all pupils in our care.  The Head Teacher and Governors are seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, highly experienced and effective professional who can lead the financial and the support services of the school. We invite applications from candidates who have broad and demonstrable experience of operating at a financial director level with the ability to think and act strategically and have outstanding leadership and communication skills. 

The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, a relentless commitment to outstanding support for staff and pupils and the interpersonal skills to grow and develop highly effective teams. The role will cover all aspects of financial management and controls with day to day management of the annual budget (in excess of £11m) alongside ensuring compliance in respect of premises, health and safety and other statutory obligations and the management of all non-teaching operational matters including line management of the School’s  Finance Team, HR Manager, Catering Team and Facilities Management Staff.
