Job Purpose  

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Director of Finance to take the strategic lead in Finance for Wirral Academy Trust as it embarks on its integration and expansion as a Multi Academy Trust incorporating Birkenhead Sixth Form College and its sponsored school, The Birkenhead Park School. It is planned that the Trust will continue to grow and the successful candidate will play an important part in supporting its development and expansion. As part of the role, The Director of Finance will contribute to the development of strategy and policy to support the Trust’s plans.  

The Director of Finance will be directly responsible to the CEO. The person will be expected to provide strategic and financial advice as a key member of the senior management team and will have overall responsibility for the effective delivery of all the financial operations and services across the Trust. The Director of Finance will maintain effective and robust financial services across the Trust, will have an up to date knowledge of financial regulations and be proactive in developing new systems. A key aspect of the role will be to ensure that accurate financial management information is available to inform decisions and that all statistical returns are completed in a timely manner.
