Job overview

Oxford Brookes is one of the UK’s leading modern universities and enjoys an international reputation for innovation as well as strong links with business and industry. Our research is impactful, world-leading and makes a tangible difference to communities locally, nationally and internationally, tackling some of the world’s biggest problems.

In an increasingly dynamic sector, our next Director of Human Resources is a critical hire as we continue to build agility into the organisation through engagement with staff, focussing on performance and capitalising on their experience and capacity in order for us to make rapid improvements. As a member of the Vice-Chancellor’s Group, candidates will bring a breadth of leadership competence beyond human resources, contributing to the strategic leadership of the University.

With well-defined people and staff experience strategies we seek candidates who can capitalise on the existing strengths of our excellent and committed staff group and lead a range of early policy change requirements as well as a programme of leadership and management development initiatives across the University. We welcome applications from outside the higher education sector but you must bring credibility in your discipline, experience of a unionised workplace, a strong value’s set around being a team-player and an appreciation of a knowledge led environment.
