We are looking to appoint an exceptional Humanities teacher and leader to the post of Director of Humanities. The successful applicant will shape the strategic direction of the Humanities curriculum to ensure excellent outcomes and curricular provision.

The School welcomes applicants from any Humanities-based specialism but the ability to teach Geography is desirable. The successful candidate will lead an established team, contributing fully to maintaining excellence by inspiring and motivating both staff and students.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A clear understanding of the current curriculum, assessment and pedagogical developments relating to the Humanities subjects all Key Stages

A commitment to promoting the highest possible academic success and all-round development of our students is essential. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, talented and well-motivated teacher to join our innovative and supportive faculty to drive improvement.

The successful candidate will have an affinity with young people and be outward thinking in their approach to teaching and learning with the enthusiasm to develop these popular subjects and a vision to continue the excellent work already undertaken. A feature of Humanities is strong student-teacher relationships with staff regularly running after-school revision sessions and extra-curricular clubs. The ability to work effectively as part of a team and uphold the departmental ethos is therefore essential.

You must have very good subject knowledge and be committed to raising the achievement and aspirations of all students.
