Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity to become a Director of ICT in a newly formed and expanding forward-looking multi-academy trust.  We are ambitious for all our children, who are educated in schools that reflect their local communities and know that by working together we can achieve more.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the postholder will work with the Trust Executive, its Board and academy leadership teams to provide strategic leadership of ICT.  The key purpose of the post is to lead and develop the Trust’s IT function, ensuring that it develops, supports and keeps pace with the Trust’s ambitious strategic plan.  You will oversee the schools’ IT teams and you will also be responsible for strong IT governance experience across GDPR, data security and compliance.

We expect the successful candidate to have excellent technical knowledge and experience across IT applications, including server and network infrastructure, data management systems and services, security, website design and applications and customer support.  Experience of the education sector would be an advantage.

If you are interested in this exciting post, and would like to explore it in more detail, then please contact Janet Robinson (Director, Human Resources) by emailing jrobinson@thelearningalliance.co.uk.

The Learning Alliance is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff appointments are subject to satisfactory references and enhanced checks with the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS).

We will, however, seek a post-appointment reference for successful candidates, which will include questions relating to attendance records. Appointments will be made subject to this reference and the Trust may, in some circumstances, withdraw the offer of appointment on the basis of information received, again having full regard to the requirements of the Equality Act.
