Job overview
A member of the College Leadership Team, the Director of Learner Services will provide effective leadership and coordination of a range of learner services to ensure that our learners have access to support and services to enable them to learn, succeed and flourish. You will lead on the development and implementation of an effective and engaging tutorial curriculum, that will contribute to learners' personal development, behaviour and welfare, including British Values and PREVENT, cyber safety and the whole range of safeguarding topics.
You must have substantial experience as a manager of staff within a post-16 education environment or equivalent; a good understanding of Government policy, in-depth knowledge of Child Protection Legislation, and a proven record of effective quality improvement.

Halesowen College, in the West Midlands, is a mixed further education institution. It accepts students from the age of 16 and has around 4,200 learners in attendance. The college offers courses of study in 11 subject areas and partners with three local higher education institutions.
Founded in 1966, Halesowen College regularly places in the top 10% of colleges for the examination performance of its students. The college offers a high level of support for students transitioning from school to higher education via its university centre, and via its long-standing partnerships with the University of Worcester and Newman University.
