Fir Vale School opened in September 1998 and has been on a journey of school improvement to provide high quality education for the local community. In June 2015 and with 1,050 students on roll, OFSTED graded our school Good in all categories, and Outstanding in student safety. We are proud that in 2015 we also won the National Top 10% Progress Award.

The Director of Learning for English role is core to the success of the Academy and includes the co-ordination of Literacy across the academy. This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding and experienced middle leader seeking to develop senior leadership responsibility.

We are currently seeking to appoint a dynamic, innovative and inspirational leader in English to drive forward teaching and learning in this key area. A skilled teacher yourself, you will lead by example and have the ability to inspire students and colleagues to achieve their potential. As Director of Learning (English), you will make a significant contribution to ensuring we achieve our commitment to our students and their families.
