We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and forward thinking

You would lead a highly successful team: English results for 2016 were A*-C 71%, 78% of pupils achieved 3 levels of progress and 50% achieved 4 levels of progress.

Description:

  • Ensure that the faculty is led and managed to meet the core values, aims and objectives of the school
  • Lead and develop a highly motivated and skilled team of English staff to outstanding success
  • Develop the teaching of English with the content of the new specifications to secure excellent progress from Year 7 through to Year 13 for all students
  • Use short, medium and long term planning, in consort with the School Improvement Plan to drive forward with impact
  • Maintain and build the ethos and character of the English Faculty as a core subject within the school
  • Play a key role in developing the quality of teaching and learning across the school

Thomas Becket Catholic School is a mixed Roman Catholic secondary school for 11- to 18-year-olds in Northampton. There are currently around 846 students in attendance. The sixth form offers pupils the chance to study AS, A-Level and BTEC qualifications.

Thomas Becket Catholic School achieved its best ever exam results at GCSE and A-Level in 2016, making it one of the top co-educational schools in Northampton.
