Director of  Learning for Science - Primary.

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive Multi-Academy Trust, based in Wakefield. The school is looking to add a Director of Learning for Science-Primary to their progressive and supportive MAT ideally starting in April 2022.

"The post will involve the development of science at academy level. This includes leadership development, working and supporting teachers across all year groups, enhancing the profile of science and effective ways to record science learning.  Additionally, the post will involve the development of science at Trust level and potentially beyond. This will involve writing schemes of work, continually refining, improving Trust-wide practice and delivering Trust-wide CPD.

As Director of Learning for Science, you will provide pedagogic leadership as an outstanding classroom practitioner, playing a key part in raising standards through the model of their own excellent teaching and by supporting the professional development of their colleagues. 

The school is offering:

• A super supportive and highly visible SLT team and Headteacher;

• on-going CPD with programmes of study such as NPQSL and MA in Educational Leadership

• progression support throughout the school and wider group

• the chance to take on further responsibilities in the future.

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• a relevant Science Degree or a related subject

• experience in delivering primary education up to KS2, pushing and engaging learners to progress within the subject

• experience supporting departments: specifically around teaching and learning

• a love and passion for education.
