About Pakefield High School
Pakefield High School is a newly-opened secondary school located in the town of Lowestoft, Suffolk. First opened in 2011, the school was formed following a large reorganisation of schools in the local area, with Pakefield High School initially inheriting the buildings of a former middle school. Later, the school moved onto a brand new purpose-built site, with capacity for around 900 students aged 11-16, average-sized for a school of this type. The school is co-educational, and offers a small amount of off-site provision for pupils with specific educational needs.
Headteacher
Mr Anthony Walker
Values and Vision
Pakefield High School works hard in order to fulfil its comprehensive ethos, achieving this by offering a wide-ranging and engaging curriculum, along with proper recognition of the needs of individual students. The school provides guidance for older pupils in Key Stage 4 as to the kinds of options they have available to them post-16, be it further education or employment. The personal development of pupils is also carefully considered, with their social and emotional intelligence, as well as work ethic, going hand-in-hand with academic achievement.
Ofsted
“Pupils are making good progress and achieving well because they are taught well and their attitudes to learning are good. They enjoy the well-developed practical tasks provided in most lessons to help them learn. Teaching assistants provide skilled support to individual and small groups of pupils, often those who have additional needs or are at risk of falling behind, to ensure they move forward in their learning.”
