Salary: Teachers Main Scale or UPS plus TLR1b  £9,472 plus retention payment of £1000 after 12 and 24 months

Required from January 2018 or sooner

Full-time

At Freebrough Academy we are looking to appoint an outstanding senior middle leader to join our modern foreign languages and business and enterprise faculty.

The successful candidate will be a MFL specialist and will lead the combined languages and business faculty, with teaching at both KS3 and KS4 in both subject areas. They will be responsible for driving the progress of students and teaching and learning in both subject areas.

This is an exciting time in the development of languages at Freebrough. We have established a strong take up at KS4 with both Spanish and French options groups across the 3 year KS4 (9-11). We wish to further expand our Ebacc offer by encouraging more students to opt for languages by further developing an inspiring and engaging curriculum at KS3. The successful candidate will drive the curriculum developments at all stages, taking into account changes to the KS4 framework.

Business and Enterprise is the Academy specialism and since 2011 we have developed a core business programme, meaning all students in the Academy study this subject at both KS3 and KS4. We have three fantastic business and enterprise teachers in post, who have devised and implemented an effective business and enterprise curriculum. As Director of Learning for the faculty you will be responsible for the leadership and progress of this subject area.

A retention incentive is available for the successful candidate. This is a £1,000 payment at the end of the first and second years of employment with the Academy. A relocation package of up to £1,000 is also available.

The position we are filling is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and a satisfactory DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required as part of our pre-employment checks.
