St Andrew's Senior School is seeking to appoint a Director of Learning.  This position is a whole-school role focused on learning in the Senior School, responsible to the Deputy Head (Academic) for key areas of learning.

This new role is a very exciting opportunity at a time when the School has committed both to timetabled allocation for staff CPD and a new Learning Centre which the Director of Learning would help design.

St Andrew's is committed to providing a vibrant co-curricular and boarding programme to which all staff contribute.

If you would be interested in the position, kindly complete an application form available on the School Website or contact the HR Director on or Tel: +254 (0) 734 288501

St Andrew's Turi is one of the leading international schools and has an outstanding reputation throughout Africa.   Founded as a Preparatory School for the children of expatriates in 1931, it has grown to comprise both Preparatory and Senior Schools and to welcome children of over 25 nationalities, the majority of whom are now African.  The Senior School is a full boarding school.

St Andrew's has a strong Christian foundation and ethos, which define and govern the nature and work of the School today.   While children from all faith backgrounds are welcome, the School's Christian character is clearly evident  in its underlying educational philosophy and practice.

The Senior School was founded in 1988 and is a member of COBIS and a global member of Round Square.   It aims to provide a world class education with outstanding teaching and learning central to its vision of creating leaders that will change their country, continent and the world for good.  Students are prepared for GCSE/IGCSE and A level exams and move to the universities in the UK, America, Australia and many other parts of the world.

St Andrew's is characterized by the highest professional standards, and offers a vibrant and industrious community, ensuring excellent professional development within the context of a committed full boarding school.

Working at St Andrew's, Turi is an exciting and dynamic experience.  We look to recruit committed and resourceful staff, who are looking to not only develop their skills and leadership capacities, but also embrace new experiences and challenges.

There are some things that are essential to working with us.  The successful candidate will need to be able to support the School's aims and Christian ethos.  They will have to have a degree as well as a recognised teaching qualificatin, such as a PGCE, and of course, the relevant experience.

Beyond that we want to have staff who love working as part of a team; who are first-class communicators; who are passionate about the subjects and students they teach; who are creative and diligent in their planning and who are adaptable, energetic and resilient.

Experience of working in a Senior School, or in a boarding, would be desirable, but not essential.  Above all, what matters is a commitment to help us provide a world class education for our children.

St Andrew's School, Turi is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

The successful applicant will undertake their role and responsibilities in accordance with St Andrew's School's Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and Guidelines and will be required to undergo all checks relevant to the post.

If you require further information on the position, kindly contact Ms Janet Ndiho, the HR Director on email or tel: +254 (0) 734 288501.
