Dollar Academy, one of Scotland’s leading independent day and boarding schools, is looking to appoint a Director of Music.

The school has an excellent reputation for the quality and diversity of its music, created through five choirs, four orchestras, three jazz orchestras, chamber and traditional music groups, and Junior and Senior stage musicals.  Furthermore, the department has a reputation for nourishing musical talent and has become synonymous with opportunity and excellence.

With overall responsibility for the delivery of the musical programme within a flourishing school with around 1300 pupils the successful candidate must be an outstanding musician, an excellent teacher, an efficient administrator and an inspiring and caring leader.

About Dollar Academy

Dollar Academy was founded in 1818 as the UK’s first co-educational day and boarding school and has been at the heart of Scotland’s educational development for 200 years. The school is the Sunday Times Scottish Independent School of the Year 2018.

Dollar has over 1250 pupils aged 5-18, of whom approximately 75 are boarders.
