We are seeking to appoint an outstanding and inspirational Director of Music to lead our music provision alongside our wider commitment to music education across the School.

Winchester College has an enviable reputation for the high quality of its music and inspiring young people. Music has been central to life at Winchester ever since its foundation, and the school is unique in having maintained its Choral Foundation to the present day. The Music Department is now one of the leading departments in the country, and offers outstanding opportunities to all.

We are looking to appoint an outstanding candidate with the enthusiasm, energy and ambition to enhance our offer further and lead a new phase in the school’s musical history.

The successful candidate will be a member of the School’s Senior Management Team, contributing to the strategic and operational life of both the Music Department and the wider School.

Winchester College’s music provision is offered within the context of an all-round co-educational boarding and day school for pupils aged 13-18.

Situated in the heart of Winchester, there are few schools in the world which can claim to be as historic, distinguished and beautiful as Winchester College. This unparalleled combination attracts pupils from across the world, making Winchester a truly international and diverse community which celebrates every pupil’s individuality, passions and potential.

The successful applicant will be provided with accommodation in College, if they wish it, and will receive a competitive package of remuneration.

The post will commence in September 2022

We look forward to appointing a candidate of the highest calibre to build on our already excellent reputation and one which will ensure we remain at the forefront of music education and provision.

Closing date: Thursday 4 November 2021
