Located in a beautiful Pennine valley within easy access of Manchester and Leeds, this successful, co-educational day and boarding school requires a suitably qualified, dynamic and inspirational, full time Director of Music from September 2018.

The right person will have the opportunity to continue to develop this already excellent department to maximise its enormous potential and, in doing so, to demonstrate leadership, vision, initiative and organisational ability.  The successful applicant will be an excellent musician and teacher with good keyboard skills.  Leading musical aspects of important productions and events will be a key aspect of the role.

Energy, commitment and a willingness to take a full part in the broader life of the school including boarding will be an asset.

About Rishworth School

Rishworth School is a mixed, non-denominational, all-through independent day and boarding school situated in Rishworth, West Yorkshire. The school has a Christian ethos but welcomes students from all faiths. There are approximately 450 pupils at Rishworth, between the ages of 3-19.

Rishworth School was established in 1724 by John Wheelwright in a small building, now used as the school’s chapel. The junior school, Heathfield opened in 1951. The school is set around 130 acres of parkland. It is a founder member of the Society of Headmasters for Independent Schools (SHMIS). Rishworth and Heathfield both offer an extensive range of learning facilities and share a swimming pool, performing arts centre and playing fields.
