Director of Music

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Music, who has the expertise and vision to lead the Music Department at Brighton College Prep Kensington. The successful applicant will be able to use their talents to help enrich the quality of musical opportunities available to pupils, be a role model, and play a full part in the vibrant life of our busy school. As the Director of Music, they will drive the strategy forwards for this department at an exciting time in our development. They will have the ability and flexibility to teach a range of curriculum lessons and activities, including Music Technology, to high standards throughout the Prep School.

Music plays a significant part in the life of the school to provide opportunities for pupils of all abilities and aspirations to participate at an appropriate level whilst recognising and nurturing individual talent so that pupils are challenged and enabled to realise their potential.

A willingness to be involved in all aspects of day-to-day life in a busy prep school is essential. All staff are involved in the close pastoral care of our pupils, and the role will report directly to the Senior Leadership Team and ultimately the Head.

The role is required from September 2023 or January 2024 and we invite applications from experienced Teachers and Heads of Department.
