An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Leader to join our 0-19 Academy

Working under the leadership of the Principal Director of the primary phase and the wider Academy Leadership Team, you will ensure high standards for all pupils across the primary phase.

You will be required to:

  • Play a leading role in the monitoring of pupil outcomes and the quality of teaching;
  • Oversee performance management, including the CPD programme;
  • Oversee and deliver performance data reporting, including behaviour and attendance;
  • Support curriculum planning;
  • Support the NQT and ITT programmes;
  • Be responsible for website content for the primary phase;
  • Provide guidance and support for staff in order to improve the quality of teaching and learning;
  • Raise aspirations and set high standards for staff, pupils and parents.

NCEA is an all-through school consisting of five primary campuses, three early years centres, a child minding provision, one secondary campus and a centre for children with special educational needs.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an inspirational and motivational leader with a proven track record of raising standards and who has high expectations of pupils and staff;
  • Is an excellent primary practitioner, with a passion for being actively involved in teaching and learning, who will continue to put our pupils' learning and outcomes at the heart of every decision;
  • Is committed to promoting and maintaining the Christian ethos of the Academy;
  • Has senior leadership experience within the primary phase;
  • Will promote the personal wellbeing of our pupils.

Duke’s Secondary School, a part of the NCEA Trust, is an 11 to 19 academy based in Ashington, around 15 miles to the north of Newcastle upon Tyne. Our pupils come to us from the communities of Ashington, Newbiggin and Lynemouth.  Many transition to Duke’s from our partner primary schools, Bishop's, Thomas Bewick, James Knott, Grace Darling and William Leech but an increasing number of families choose Duke’s from other schools in the area.
