ASCL is seeking to appoint a Director of Policy and Public Relations required to start from 1 September 2017.

The postholder for this key role will be responsible for leading and coordinating all aspects of the association’s policies, responses to consultations, requests for evidence and for overseeing the work of ASCL’s policy specialists and public relations team.

The salary for the post is on a five-point scale from £68,108 to £75,117 per annum. Reasonable travel and out-of-pocket expenses are also covered.

ASCL offers an attractive pension scheme, to which the association contributes 14.1 per cent of salary.

The post is home based however the post-holder will be expected to work from ASCL headquarters in Leicester on a regular basis. There will be some travel and nights away from home. The postholder will be required to attend a significant number of meetings in London including representing the association at a national level with the opportunity to influence government policy and provide, sustain and develop outstanding services to, and support for, members.
