Job overview

Kingsmead is a large, mixed, oversubscribed school – easily accessible from both central London and surrounds – with loyal staff, an established standing in the community and a very strong track record.

Despite the school’s size and standing, the Headteacher was appointed relatively young after experience of leading for a high-performing academy chain and in one of the most successful London boroughs. He has restarted the school culture and approach over the last few years and is determined to push it forward from being in the top 20% nationally to being somewhere where things are achieved others do not think possible.

The key elements of the role are to lead on the development and implementation of the Kingsmead Whole School Character Curriculum (delivered in extended tutor times and Drop Down Days) as well as leading on the development and implementation of the RE curriculum through a team of subject specialists and non-specialists.

The whole school character curriculum includes elements of PSHE, RSE and Careers and has been completely overhauled in the last 18 months. We have made space in the school day for it to be delivered in specific sessions by tutors and is integrated into a wider  ‘Readiness’ curriculum that spirals up from Year 7 and includes extra-curricular activities and trips.

Kingsmead’s children need a great human being to join as Director of RE, PSHE and RSE.

For all our staff at Kingsmead we offer:

  • A professional and friendly working environment.
  • An ambitious school which also cares about staff wellbeing and a work life balance. Benefits include:
  • Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Cycle2work Scheme.
  • Tech Scheme.
  • Opportunities for career development, with a dedication to provide CPD.

Well-behaved children who love their learning and make us proud to be at Kingsmead.

Dedicated Trustees, staff, children and parents who work hard to continue to develop our school.

Application packs can found on our school staff vacancies page on our website (https://www.kingsmeadschool.org/vacancies/)

Please do not send CVs, as they will not be considered.

Closing date: 9am, Tuesday 24 May 2022.

We reserve the right to interview early and appoint, if the right candidate comes along.

All schools and services in Enfield are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Therefore, all workers and employees within Enfield are expected to share this commitment.

About Kingsmead School & Sixth Form

‘Practise to Perfect’

Kingsmead is a large, mixed, oversubscribed school – easily accessible from both central London and surrounds – with loyal staff, an established standing in the community and a very strong track record. We are consistently above average in Progress 8 and A Level value added, with high Ebacc entry and a wide range of options at KS4 and KS5. Those outcomes are built on a calm, purposeful and collaborative atmosphere.
