Job overview

Director of Religious Education

Salary: L5 - 7 (£52,074 - £54,816)

At All Saints there is a strong mandate from Governors and the Headteacher for continued improvement within the Religious Education department. At the last Section 48 Inspection in May 2023 the Quality of Religious Education was graded Good. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Subject Leader or Curriculum Leader to join our passionate Leadership team in driving forwards change.

The school wishes to appoint a talented Director of Religious Education to lead this key area of the curriculum, further developing high quality teaching and learning that inspires students from Y7-Y13.  The successful candidate should have a clear vision of how to drive curriculum development, through collaborative planning, to achieve high outcomes and positive engagement. Experience in working on relevant projects, leading staff, mentoring, quality assurance and CPD should position the right candidate to lead this core department in the next phase of its growth.

Applicants should be excellent classroom practitioners who explore innovative ways of delivering their subject. They should be able to teach across the age and ability range.

All Saints is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS checks.

We are committed to fairness and social justice and welcome applications from everyone. We value and celebrate our diverse workforce. Under the Disability Confident Scheme, disabled applicants, who meet the essential criteria of this job, are guaranteed an interview.
