Our modern, well equipped campus is located on the north side of Brisbane with an enrolment of over 1500 students from Prep to Year 12. 



We invite suitably qualified and experienced applicants to apply for the Full Time position of Director of Secondary School Sport commencing Term 1 2020. 


Reporting to the Head of Secondary, this position is responsible for the continuing development of a comprehensive Secondary Sport program in which students participate in challenging inter-school competitions. Our sports program aims to challenge our students and provide avenues for representation at a higher level. 


This position is Full Time, comprising a combination of teaching and non-contact time to fulfil the PAR position role.


The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  1. Demonstrated Christian character and the ability to inspire others.
  2. Proven capability supporting teachers in their delivery of sports programs.
  3. Expertise and commitment to sporting excellence.
  4. Expert knowledge of legislative requirements pertaining to the delivery and oversight of sports programs.
  5. Desire for lifelong learning and active professional self-development. 
  6. Excellent leadership and time management skills, including the ability to cope with competing demands under pressure and work autonomously.
  7. Diplomatic and skilled verbal and written communication skills.
  8. Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead innovatively and influence outcomes.
  9. Commitment to the provision of quality customer service when interacting with parents and the wider community.
  10. Ability to develop, write and edit publications, including policy documents, guidelines and handbooks. 

 

Education/Certification

• Bachelor of Teaching or Education 

• Queensland College of Teachers Registration

• Demonstrated teaching ability

Genesis Christian College is a mixed, non-selective, Christian, all-through independent school in Queensland, serving students from the age of 4-18. The all-through school is situated in Bray Park. There are approximately 1,500 students on roll, and 160 members of staff.

The all-through school boasts modern learning facilities, including a two swimming pools, dance, music and drama rooms, art blocks, science laboratories, computer suites, sports courts, a library and an agricultural science farm.

Curriculum

Genesis Christian College offers a broad and balanced learning curriculum across the year groups, with dedicated teaching staff working to nurture individuals' skills and talents so that everyone is able to reach their full potential. Additional support is available for pupils with learning difficulties, while careers advice and work experience opportunities are provided for older pupils. In Year 11, Vocation Educational and Training (VET) programmes are offered as part of the syllabus, offering a career-focused practical pathway. A wide range of extracurricular activities, ranging from sports to drama club, are also available for pupils to get involved with new experiences outside of the classroom.
