Royton and Crompton is a school with a bright future. We are under the guidance of a new and experienced Leadership Team who are driving the school forward.

A new build is planned for 2019 which will provide state of the art resources for all of our staff. We are situated a short distance away from the scenic Pennines and have excellent transport links from Manchester city centre.

The new post of Director of Services is an integral role within a new Senior Leadership Team at Royton and Crompton School. As one of eight key leaders in the school, including and alongside the Headteacher, the Director of Services will take a strategic lead in the development of the school, with particular responsibility for: 

  • Financial direction and development 
  • Estates and New Build – Client Lead
  • School Status Impact Planning
  • Partnerships – developing business and commercial links
  • Support Staff and Resources

The Director of Services is responsible for overall line management of all support staff areas and has oversight of the areas set out above.

The successful candidate will have both extensive and demonstrable experience in financial management and accounting in an educational establishment or similar comparably sized organisation, effective budget analysis, the securing value for money, efficient management of contracts and capital bids, be able to evidence effective project management of high value contracts (including FM services and contracts) and their successful delivery.

Royton and Crompton School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary in Oldham, Greater Manchester. As of the most recent inspection there were 1,166 students on the school roll. The school is located close to Blackshaw Lane Primary and Nursery School. The town of Oldham has a population of 97,000, and is less than ten miles from central Manchester.
