Job overview

Skills Central Training is an exciting new venture between the three local further education colleges: Birmingham Metropolitan College, Solihull College & University Centre and South and City College Birmingham. The three colleges have combined their expertise to form this company to deliver a unique service to local companies and public sector organisations.

From May 2017, the Apprenticeship Levy will transform the way in which apprenticeships are funded and will increase both the engagement and expectations of employers investing in training. Skills Central Training will target large public sector organisations to plan and deliver apprentices and will also engage with SMEs via a small ESF contract to signpost apprenticeships and other training opportunities.

In order to drive the development and success of Skills Central Training, we are appointing a Director role who will be responsible for establishing and growing the new company. This is an exciting opportunity for a visionary leader who can bring passion and determination and lead the changes that are necessary to drive our future success.

Successful candidates will have a thorough understanding of the current FE and Apprenticeships landscape with the proven ability to lead customer-focused change. The role requires a confident communicator able to drive new ways of working to transform traditional college based delivery and deliver significant income growth.

The role is based at Solihull College although travel across the region is expected.
