Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continued development of sport and PE at Beaudesert Park School.

Following the promotion of our current Head of Boys’ Games to a position within another school, we are seeking to appoint either a Director of Sport or a Head of Boys’ Games, depending on the field of applicants, so invite applications for both roles.

This post will suit an ambitious and experienced sportsman/woman looking to develop their career. The successful candidate will be an excellent sportsman/woman, coach and teacher capable of giving effective and inspiring leadership to the Head of Girls’ and Boys’ Games and the Head of PE, as well as to the large number of staff and coaches who deliver the Games and PE programme.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach some academic curriculum lessons throughout the Prep school and play a full part in the life of this successful, forward-looking family school. Beaudesert is an independent boarding and day co-ed Prep School with a Pre-prep department (450 pupils).

Although not a requirement, for the right candidate, the opportunity to take a role, with accommodation, at the heart of the thriving boarding community, may be available, should this be desired. The School has its own salary scale.

For further details of the post, please contact the Headmaster's PA on 01453 832072 or by email to j.gibson@bps.school. Please apply in writing with a covering letter, completed application form and the names of 2 referees to: The Headmaster, Beaudesert Park, Minchinhampton, Gloucestershire, GL6 9AF. These can be sent by post or by email. In your covering letter, please note your current notice period.

Closing Date: The closing date for applications is Monday 25th March at 5:00pm (but the School reserves the right to close early if sufficient numbers of applications are received).

Due to timescale, first round interviews will commence upon receipt of applications.

The successful candidate will be expected to start in September 2019, although a January 2020 start may be considered for the right candidate.

Beaudesert Park School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children at the School. Therefore all employees are required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check (including Barred List check) from the Disclosure and Barring Service. References will be taken up and the School will approach previous employers for information to verify particular experience or qualifications.
