Director of Sport

We are looking to appoint an inspirational role model and an energetic, innovative teacher and passionate leader and motivator. The successful candidate will oversee and further develop a team of dedicated staff to create a culture of aspiration and engagement across the School. St Gabriel’s provides a completely holistic sporting provision and offers a multi-dimensional approach towards pupils’ sport, health and fitness; the school seeks to prepare well its pupils for an active life. In an environment where all pupils aspire to develop their sporting ability, some obviously excel within a superior experience of competitive sport. All sporting opportunities are available to all pupils, regardless of ability, and St Gabriel’s seeks to stimulate and engage pupils’ interest in team games from the outset.

• An excellent teacher and coach who will inspire the department and model best practice 
• A skilled communicator able to convey the School’s commitment to, and ambition for, sport 
• An accomplished manager and administrator, skilled in the use of IT 
• A dedicated role model and ambassador for the School and its sport

The ability to teach both GCSE and A level would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be expected to play a full part in the extra-curricular programme.

St Gabriel’s is an independent day school founded in 1929 which incorporates Sandleford, our EYFS provision; at present there are approximately 500 pupils in the School. Sandleford Priory dates back to the early Middle Ages and is set in a beautiful Grade 1 listed building within 54 acres of Capability Brown parkland, which provides a gracious setting in which to work.
