Director of Sport (Whole School)

Closing Date: 6th September 2019

Start Date: 1st August 2020

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a well-qualified and inspirational Director of Sport.

Founded in partnership between NLCS (UK) and Sobha, North London Collegiate School [Singapore] will open its doors in August 2020.   We are excited to be bringing the ambitious and inspirational NLCS ethos to the dynamic and exciting location of Singapore.

The School will provide the same impressive range of extra-curricular activities for which North London Collegiate School (UK), NLCS Jeju and NLCS Dubai, are well known, to foster the holistic development of well-rounded individuals.

The school will be purpose built, boasting impressive, state-of-the-art facilities; construction is already underway and on target for completion in February 2020.

NLCS [Singapore] is looking for a dynamic and inspirational Director of Sport, with an outstanding track record in leading a whole school sports provision, to teach at the School from August 2020.

The appointee will oversee all aspects of the school’s sporting provision, in keeping with the overall aims of the school.  He/she will also be responsible for encouraging teachers to take on coaching roles, and to support them to form a collegiate and committed team.  It is essential that the Director of Sport has the ability to communicate enthusiasm and passion for sporting activity to students and staff; promoting participation and elite performance in equal measures.

The appointee will ensure that all sports coaches offer support to the learning and pastoral needs of individual students, in keeping with the School’s pastoral policy and the School’s aims and values. All members of staff are also expected to be involved in pastoral care within the School community, and also to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the School.

We believe that NLCS [Singapore] represents a unique opportunity for teachers. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package including accommodation allowance, annual flights, health insurance, and free places at the school for up to two dependent children. We also provide first-class professional development through the established NLCS educational community and a variety of external providers.  An annual HSBC report has named Singapore as the best location in the world for expatriates to live and work, for four consecutive years.

Whilst we enjoy excellent facilities in a prime location, it is our people that will make our School such an inspirational place. If you are interested in joining our team please submit a completed application form, an up to date CV, and a covering letter of application that focuses on your personal educational philosophy.  Applications should be emailed to recruitment@nlcssingapore.sg .

The deadline for applications is 6th September 2019. However, please note that an appointment may be made prior to the closing date if an exceptional candidate is found.

NLCS [Singapore] is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to satisfactory enhanced background checks.
