Tes are seeking to appoint two enthusiastic and inspirational Physical Education Specialists from August 2022 on a full-time fixed-term basis. 

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly growing family of International Chinese schools in major cities in China.  The Shanghai location opened in 2017 and is a sister school to a highly regarded international school group.  It provides a bi-lingual, bi-cultural education for Chinese students and their progressive approach incorporates both the academically rigorous Chinese national curriculum and inquiry-based English learning, building international mindedness with a strong focus on well-being and commitment to service and sustainability. Being part of the school is a culturally immersive experience paired with the diverse opportunities, for both students and staff, accessed through their sister schools in the established International network. 

Role 1 - Director of Sports

"The Director of Sports is an outstanding leader, responsible for the overall standards of teaching and learning in the department area. This person is not only an exceptional teacher but also is committed to the values and philosophy of creating a bilingual, bicultural learning environment. This person communicates effectively with their team and creates a positive environment for staff to flourish and for students to learn."

Role 2 - Teacher of PE

"He/she creates a warm, flexible, language-rich environment to promote high-quality learning, student agency, and independence. The teacher understands how to support student wellbeing and the development of strong and positive character attributes essential to leading a successful and purposeful life. He/she develops positive and caring relationships with students, parents and all school staff and motivates students to love learning. He/she knows how to build discipline-specific knowledge and skills and creates learning engagements, leading to deeper conceptual understanding."

Successful candidates will have:

- Bachelors degree in relevant/subject specialist area

- PGCE / Qualified Teacher Status

- Minimum 2 years teaching experience

- Experience in teaching EAL/ELL students
