The Chelmsford Learning Partnership is looking to appoint a Director of Standards and School Improvement to work across all the schools in our trust. The Director of Standards and School Improvement will provide strategic leadership for continually improving the quality of education and the outcomes for all pupils in order to further improve standards across all CLP Schools as well as supporting the delivery of the strategic vision of the trust.
The Chelmsford Learning Partnership is an established Multi-Academy Trust based in Essex with 8 schools across the county. This role has been created as a result of the expansion of the trust central team and it presents a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the quality of education in our schools. It will also provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to have a key leadership role in a multi academy trust.
We are looking to appoint a leader who has had experience of senior leadership in schools and is able to clearly demonstrate previous experience in leading school improvement strategies. The successful candidate will also have experience in managing and working in a large and complex organisation. They will also have excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to work independently whilst, at the same time, be able to form effective relationships with school staff, trust staff, governors and trustees. Ideally, we would like this role to start in September 2021, however we recognise that some colleagues may have a longer notice period than one half term and, as a result, we would be happy for the role to start in January 2022 for colleagues in this position.
When not working in our schools, the post holder will be based at our offices at Waterhouse Lane Business Centre, Chelmsford, CM1 2QE. As a result, it is an essential requirement of this role that the successful candidate has access to their own car and a holds a current UK driving licence.
The Chelmsford Learning Partnership is committed within its schools to:
• Safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety, and the spiritual and cultural development of children and young people;
• Promoting equality of opportunity and community cohesion where the diversity of different backgrounds and circumstances is appreciated and positively valued;
• The fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance for those with different faiths and beliefs
We expect all staff, volunteers and other workers to share in this commitment.
As a trust, we welcome applications from colleagues from all backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from colleagues from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds and people that identify as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender plus (LGBT+) as these groups are currently underrepresented in our trust.
In compliance with safer recruitment procedures and guidelines, all applications must be made on an application form, CVs will not be accepted. This appointment will be subject to pre-employment checks including an enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and satisfactory references. The Chelmsford Learning Partnership is an equal opportunities employer.
Please find the job description and person specification for this role in the Candidate Information Pack.

The Chelmsford Learning Partnership (CLP) is a successful and established multi-academy trust based in Springfield, Chelmsford. There are currently 8 schools across Essex in the CLP multi academy trust. The schools in the CLP are: Barnes Farm Infant School, Barnes Farm Junior School, Lakelands Primary School, Perryfields Infant School, Roding Valley High School, The Beaulieu Park School, The Boswells School and The Tyrrells Primary School. We believe that, as a collective of schools, we are stronger together and that by working together we provide an outstanding education for every child in our family of schools. We also believe it is important for schools in our trust to keep their individual identity and all our schools operate with their own autonomous Headteachers, Leadership teams, staff and Local Governing Bodies; each with their own ethos that makes every school in our trust unique.
As a trust, we employ 550 staff and there are over 4,500 students in our schools.
