This school seeks a dynamic, experienced, and committed educational leader to lead its Secondary School. The successful applicant will have a high-level responsibility for academic improvement and the ability to demonstrate data driven monitoring and progress of teaching and learning outcomes as well as oversight of the operations of the Secondary School. They will have the key task of working with Secondary staff to drive academic improvement and oversee the welfare of students across Years 7 -12. The successful applicant will:

  •  Oversee the welfare needs of students in Years 7 to 12, in liaison with the Head of Secondary, classroom teachers, Heads of House, and parents
  • Coordinate behaviour management issues in Years 7 to 12
  • Advise and implement procedures to improve communication channels with teachers, parents, and students
  • Support the Secondary Section (Years 7-12) of the College staff by visiting classrooms and advising with respect to welfare, counselling, helping, monitoring progress and encouraging staff
  • Assist with support mechanisms for teachers, particularly marginal and beginning teachers within the Secondary Section (Stages 4-6) of the College, ensuring that all Wellbeing programs meet the needs and requirements of NESA
  • Participate in organising and overseeing Student Induction & Orientation Days, as well as Information Sessions and Open Nights.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Secondary, and Heads of House, implement the College Accountability Model and behaviour procedures, ensuring appropriate support structures and mechanisms are in place, providing discipline and counsel for students when required (using where appropriate the principles of Restorative Justice and Positive Psychology). All frameworks will be informed by the school’s faith principles

 

Selection Criteria: 

  • Tertiary qualifications education and minimum of Proficient Teacher Accreditation (NSW) or equivalent.
  • Hold or have the ability to be registered with WWCC  
  • Previous Leadership experience in a similar role is preferred
  • Post graduate qualifications in curriculum/pedagogy or educational leadership is advantageous, but not essential
  • Ability to provide current and relevant references from Middle Management/Executive Leadership level (please note referees will not be contacted prior to your express approval, and all applications are treated in complete confidentiality)
