Highfield School are looking to recruit a qualified and experienced Director of Studies for their 3 week residential language school programme 14th July - 4th August 2018. Students aged 8-15 years, fun, supportive team, great facilities and beautiful grounds in Liphook, Hampshire.

Highfield School enjoys an outstanding reputation for academic success and feeds the top senior schools in England. The School is set in glorious 175 acre grounds in the Hampshire countryside less than an hour from London and Heathrow Airport. Owned and run by Highfield School, the Summer School provides outstanding English language tuition for approx. 45 overseas students aged 8-15 years, as well as offering a three week taster of all the fun, sports and activities which are part of life in a real English Country Boarding School.

The Director of Studies is a key leadership role in the Summer School. In conjunction with the Director of Boarding & Pastoral Care and the Course Director, the successful candidate will play an integral part in the direction and development of the course. The Director of Studies will have overall responsibility for ensuring the academic quality of the Summer School and ensuring learning objectives are met for each student. The Director of Studies is also responsible for managing the EFL teachers, monitoring and appraising their performance.

The post holder must be available to work from Monday 9th July to 5th August 2018. As a member of the leadership team, the Director of Studies may be need to be contacted to help plan the programme prior to the course. 

Qualifications

We are looking for an exceptional individual who is passionate about teaching English and has a thorough understanding, and at least three years’ experience, of delivering first rate EFL lessons as well as leading and inspiring a team. Applicants must have native competence in English, a University degree and possess a valid diploma-level qualification in ELT/TESOL such as a DELTA or PGCE with ELT/TESOL or similar. 

The successful applicant will be extremely organised, efficient and able to work in a busy, fast-paced and often challenging environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, and experience of managing staff and building effective teams will be advantageous. 

Salary & Benefits: 

The total salary for role is £2,200 (including statutory holiday pay). Accommodation, as well as all meals and refreshments are provided for the duration of the course, and staff are able to enjoy the stunning Highfield grounds and facilities in their spare time when not in use by the school.
