About the job
Deputy Summer School Director is responsible for the running and development of ICS Summer Programmes for students during June, July and August. The role is grounded in ensuring that our Summer programmes including support services are set up and operate smoothly and effectively, offering a safe, fun learning environment for all students and clarity for all staff. Maintaining and developing our existing and new client relationships and working co-operatively with Teachers, Directors of Studies/Site Managers and Director of Summer School where appropriate. Fostering an invitational customer friendly environment. All aspects of courses are expected to adhere to statutory regulations, school policies, and the frameworks provided by Ofsted and the British Council.
About ICS
Established in 1979, ICS is all year round Independent IB School for students from 3 to 17 years old. Summer School is recognised as a Centre of Excellence, based on a 2016 British Council inspection which placed ICS among the top English language schools in the UK for young people. Each week focuses on a particular theme, such as culture, history, commerce, or the environment. The thematic nature of the course means students will not repeat the same lesson or excursion no matter when they arrive or for how long they stay.
Working days and hours
08.30 – 17.00 Monday – Friday (including breaks)
Post summer school, flexible working hours negotiable
Requirements:
•Educated to degree level or equivalent
•DELTA qualifications or Masters Degree in TEFL
•Experience of managing a summer school, including leading or coordinating staff
•Ability to support, motivate, lead and inspire a team of teachers
•Strong commitment to child protection and safeguarding.
