Job overview

We are seeking a dynamic Science leader who is an innovative teacher with a strong understanding of how girls learn and a commitment to grow STEM opportunities for our students.  

This ongoing position will commence in 2020 with an opportunity to negotiate FTE.

About Mater Christi College

Mater Christi College is an independent Catholic girls secondary school located in Belgrave Victoria. The school was founded on its current site in 1963 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, and has about 800 pupils and about 75 members of teaching staff.

Facilities

Mater Christi College is based in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges, a five-minute walk from Belgrave Station. Design facilities at the school include a multimedia room, ceramics and photography studios and a textiles centre. There is a performing arts and dance studio, along with a music centre and drama centre. The school has two indoor sports halls which house full sized basketball courts, along with all-weather sports

Mater Christi has a range of vocational resources, including an industry-standard hospitality/food technology centre and a restaurant.

Curriculum

Mater Christi College believes that learning should be authentic, lifelong, and connected to real-world issues. Teachers and educators at the school are encouraged to seek to impart skills that will inspire students to be learners for life. The school has developed a student-centred culture and approach to curriculum delivery, and encourages a “can-do” attitude in pupils.
