Wycliffe College in Stonehouse is excited to invite applications from prospective candidates for the role of Domestic Bursar.

As the Domestic Bursar, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school's high standards by overseeing the smooth operation of our domestic services including house matrons, cleaning and contracted services.  Our close-knit community of talented educators and support staff shapes the lives of our young people as they travel through their education development. Your expertise in domestic & people management and financial administration will be key in ensuring the efficient running of our boarding houses, cleanings services, and domestic facilities.

We are seeking a candidate with excellent organisational and leadership skills, as well as a passion for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for both pupils and staff. A proven track record in domestic management, budgeting, and contractor management is highly desirable.

Terms of Appointment

This is a permanent position offered on a full-time support staff contract; all-year-round starting in September 2023 or before if possible.

Salary: £34,000 - £36,000 depending on experience

The nature of the role does mean that on occasion there will be a requirement outside of normal office hours and this could include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

About Us

Wycliffe is an HMC co-educational day and boarding school. Wycliffe is located in Stonehouse, approximately 25 miles north of Bristol and 15 miles south of Cheltenham and Gloucester. Access via the motorway network is convenient (we are 3 miles from the M5) and there is a train station in Stonehouse (on the main line from London to Cheltenham) which is just a two minute walk from the school gates. In the Senior School pupils join at Year 9 (age 13) and continue until Year 13 (age 18). There are around 420 pupils in the school and 225 in the Sixth Form. Some 27 subjects are offered at A Level including Japanese, Film Studies, Computer Science and Psychology. Three BTECs are on offer as well as the EPQ. Main sports are rugby, football and cricket for boys with hockey, netball and tennis for girls. Wycliffe is the top school in the UK for squash, and excels at rowing and basketball and there is a thriving CCF.
