Ofsted recognised our truly innovative approach to delivering personalised CPD. Inspired by Harry Beck’s London Underground Tube map, our staff (passengers), choose their destination, the lines they wish to travel, and the stops they want to get off at. Many staff are also drivers sharing their expertise with colleagues.
Drama is taught throughout the Academy and is a popular KS4 and KS5 option. Due to the promotion of the post holder within the Academy and the popularity of the subject, we need an additional Drama teacher willing to teach a 30-40% English timetable.
English is a leading department at Highcrest, GCSE results are good and A Level students have progressed to prestigious Universities, including Cambridge. Literacy is a whole-school key improvement focus.
You will join a happy, motivated and experienced Department committed to raising attainment and continuous school improvement, you will have the ability to motivate our students to succeed. There is a purpose built Drama studio and Sixth Form Drama area. The English department is situated in a purpose-built block, with every classroom having interactive whiteboards and wireless facilities. There are school productions and events throughout the year.
