St. John's School and College are now looking to recruit a qualified Drama Teacher to join the Brighton site delivering teaching and learning in Theatre and Performing Arts to our learners who have a range of complex needs aged 19-25.

In this role you will be expected to demonstrate outstanding teaching and learning through highly effective planning and delivery where clear teaching objectives, lesson content,  lesson structure and sequences ensure learners meet their fullest potential in this exciting curriculum area You will set high expectations for support staff both in planning and implementation of learning and set well-grounded, realistic yet challenging expectations and learning targets for learners at the college

St. John's has qualified for the Basic Skills Quality Mark in Maths and English and a high priority is attached to the embedding of these subjects within specialist curriculum subject areas

This role requires you to prepare and present informative written reports for Annual Reviews and other professional meetings. It also expects a sound ability to liaise effectively with learners, their parents/carers and other stakeholder providing up to date details on learner progress and achievements.. 

There is also a realistic expectation that the teacher of drama links to the local community groups and leads on extra-curricular performances and events.

The successful candidate will get clear professional guidance, training and support from the Pathway Leaders.
