The Drama department compromises of a dedicated drama studio situated in our Arts block with excellent resources. We have a team room where staff are able to discuss lessons, plan collaboratively, and work together. The drama department has achieved outstanding results at GCSE and A Level in recent years and we are looking for to appoint someone to assist with increasing numbers of pupils attracted to the curriculum area. The Head of Drama has also been responsible for the delivery of amazing productions in the last two years which consisted of Beauty and the Beast and Hairspray as well as entertaining us all with her murder mystery trope. The department is a central hub for extra-curricular life at the school and we need someone to contribute to this.

Hylands School is a mixed secondary school, with a small sixth form, for pupils aged 11-18. Located in Chelmsford, Essex, it converted to an academy in 2011 and is part of the Kemnal Academies Trust.

Hylands School’s sixth form provides students with opportunities to study a range of A-levels and BTECs, and to join a vibrant community where taking on new responsibilities contributes to social and personal development.

In 2016, Hylands School was placed in the top 100 schools for sustained improvement. Rising GCSE results in 2014 and 2015 were achieved through a culture of determination and resilience among all the staff and students. The school aims to continue this trend onwards and upwards.
