Darland High School is a hidden gem in the picturesque village of Rossett in North East Wales. We are a mixed, English-language high school serving pupils aged 11-16 in the surrounding villages of Rossett, Marford, Gresford, Holt and Llay. Set in extensive beautiful grounds the school has 850 pupils on roll.

Established in 1958, Darland High School became a comprehensive school in 1972. An extensive building programme over the years has seen the creation of the Griffin Centre, a modern two story building, housing ‘state of the art’ science laboratories and ICT suites. A new library, complete with a full ICT suite, a remodelled foyer and new cookery facilities have also been added recently.

In September 2019 we welcomed new Headteacher Joanne Lee, who has brought in many changes and the school is a 'buzz' of activity. We are at an exciting time, along with extensive refurbishment of the site our team are in the process of developing an engaging New Curriculum for a new generation of students.

Our team of over 130 staff, dedicated and hard-working, are driving towards our common goal - to offer an excellent education to the communities we serve.

We welcome tours of the school prior to application.
