The school is situated within sight of the iconic Wembley Stadium, and provides access to all that Wembley has to offer. The school benefits from fantastic links both through public transport and by car.  It is a short 10 minute walk from Wembley Park and Preston Road Underground Stations and a 10 minute bus journey from North Wembley Station. EAL HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) - Upper School (11-18)

Required for March 2017

(Fixed Term contract to July 2017 in the first instance)

36 Hours per week - Term Time plus inset days

Salary – Scale 5, spinal point 22 – 25 (£20,456 – £22,434 pro rata)

plus London Weighting (£1,830 pro rata) 

circa £19,576 - £21,313 (inclusive of London Weighting)

We are looking for an HLTA to support students who are EAL (English as an additional language) learners or beginner learners of the English Language

As an HLTA in EAL you will be committed to inclusive education by helping students who are EAL learners or new arrivals with little English to develop their spoken and written skills in English.

We are looking to appoint people with good literacy, numeracy and communication skills as well as initiative, flexibility, a sense of humour and the ability to relate to young people who are new to English and may be new to the country. We are particularly keen to hear from graduates who are looking to go into the teaching profession. Experience of working with young people of secondary age would be an advantage.

Preston Manor School is a mixed, non-denominational, all-through state school with academy status, based in Wembley, north-west London, for children aged 4-18. It is a member of the family of Co-operative Trust Schools. It is a large school with approximately 1,900 pupils. Situated within a multicultural community, the school offers additional support for pupils who speak English as an additional language. Diversity and tolerance is a key message in its ethos.
